The Wrong Default
A weekly newsletter on AI, defaults, and who owns the decision. Each edition takes something real, a lawsuit, a product rollout, a line of fine print, and traces it back to the decision no one owned. Free, every Tuesday.
The imprint
One newsletter, two books, and work by partners and invited authors. Every piece carries a name, and every piece is accurate and correct.
What this is
That sentence is the argument the whole imprint is built on, and it is also how it runs. Work published here has a named author, a stated method, and a record you can audit. Nothing goes out because it sounded right.
What we publish
A weekly newsletter on AI, defaults, and who owns the decision. Each edition takes something real, a lawsuit, a product rollout, a line of fine print, and traces it back to the decision no one owned. Free, every Tuesday.
Decided in Silence for the citizen, parent, teacher and leader. Answerable for the operator and the professional. One argument, two audiences. Ebook first, print to follow.
The reactive layer: shorter pieces published as things happen, on LinkedIn and in the newsletter archive. Same sourcing rules, faster clock.
Writers we invite, and writers who bring us something worth publishing. Free in both directions: we pay nothing and we charge nothing. You keep your copyright. Not yet accepting submissions, and the page says why.
Also here
Publicly published work on AI governance, filed by category and by the situation it is useful for, read against the same seven rules whether the author is a member or a stranger who published something good. Most of it will be someone else's.
Who runs it
An AI governance practitioner in Las Vegas, and the author of both books. Twenty-five years inside the rooms where accountability was not optional.
Not a technologist selling optimism about the tools, and not a critic selling alarm about them. One narrow claim: keep the human in the decision, and be able to say, afterward, why you made the call you made.
We publish partners and invited authors under this imprint at no charge in either direction. You keep copyright, the work has to be accurate and correct, and we say yes or no in writing with a reason.
